Raksha Bandhan

Rakhi


The festival of Rakhi or Raksha bandhan is celebrated all over india in the month of August. Rakshabhandan is the beautiful relation that a brother and sister share. This Festival is celebrated all over india mostly celebrated in North and West regions. A sister ties a Rakhi to brother praying for his good health and a better life. The brother inturn promises for her sister safety and love shown from her is forever . Sister also applies a tilak to his brother on his forehead and gives traditional aarti. After tying Rakhi to his brother’s wrist he inturn  gives a surprise gift  to her. They both share sweets with their family.



Sisters living far away from their brothers send Rakhi in post showing the relation of the festival. In south region brother and sister celebrate rakhi with a dance done by them. In India family relations are of prior important to everyone. Rakhi to the jawans living at the border force is tied by young sisters comming from far places praying him to be safe. Rakhi is available to everyone in the near by stores with different colours and models. Everbody celebrates this festival with siblings and shows the fancy the thread,Rakhi.
